Carol's Batik quilt

Friend, Carol had me quilt this beautiful quilt for her.  She made the quilt for her daughter.  This was the first time I ever quilted on batiks and was surprised how easy it was.  I had heard they were hard to quilt!  I call the design I used "Funky Fern Feathers with Flower".  :)

A Southwestern Quilt

This was a fun quilt I did for Patrick in Yuma (pictured with the quilt). The pattern for the quilt is called "Navajo Sarape" and was donated to the Shriner's in Yuma.  They'll be raffling this quilt off sometime next spring.  The quilt is 96 x 100" and is actually pieced in rows.  That gave me the opportunity to do a different design on every row.

The Chocolate Heart Quilt

This was a fun quilt to do!!!! My friend Jeanne's sister-in-law had some blocks from her grandmother. Jeanne put this quilt together for her and asked me to quilt it. She had some wool batting she wanted me to use --- which was wonderful for the way it quilted and how the finished product looks, but I kept ITCHING the whole time I quilted it! LOL The quilt is 67 x 67" and I used So Fine and King Tut thread on it. CLICK ON THE PICTURE TO SEE MORE OF THIS QUILT!!!

Customer's wedding quilt

This quilt was fun to quilt. The customer made the quilt for a friend's wedding gift and is so beautiful to begin with I prayed I could make the quilting compliment the quilt rather than over power it! The flower designs are actually replicas of some flowers in the fabric. The quilt measures 83 x 92. The batting is Warm and Natural and I used King Tut thread. The pattern of the quilt is called "Flim Flam" by Mary Hubka.

A version of Not My Grandmother's Tumbling Blocks

This quilt was made by a customer. I don't know if it was a definate pattern but I recognize the technique as being the "Not My Grandmother's Tumbling Blocks". It was a fun one to do and I had a ball playing with my new longarm! The colors are actually chocolate brown for the backing and some of the rectangles and cream/gold/two browns for the blocks. The thread is a varigated cream/gold/brown. (CLICK ON THE PICTURES TO ENLARGE)

My new longarm!

Yes, I got a new longarm!!!! It's an HandiQuilter Avante with a 12 foot table! I can now do king size quilts! No computer!!! So now everything will be freemotion --- ALMOST like handquilting!!! LOL We spent the weekend re-doing the storage room....expanded to make room for the quilter and put in new flooring. When the weather warms up, I'll be painting the room......it's my very own "woman cave" :)
