This was a fun quilt to make! YES, I actually found time to piece this quilt -- I actually designed, pieced AND quilted it. It's a special quilt for my hairdresser :) We bartered -- I won't be paying for hair cuts for a lONG time to come. :) I got the patterns for the blocks from various places ---internet, books, magazines AND one block is my own design. And here's ANOTHER Stack and Whack for customer, Cathy. This has more detail - more custom quilting. Notice the McTavishing on the white inner border and the pebbles in the squares and triangles in each block. These designs take a long time but are SO impressive!
This is a beautiful quilt for customer, Sheila. The pattern of the quilt is called "Stack and Whack".

Texas Star quilt

The owner of this quilt and I lovingly call this quilt "the Monster".  It's 100" x 110" and seem HUGE compared to others!  It's paper pieced!  The block is called Texas Star from the book "50 Fabulous Paper Pieced Stars" by Carol Doak.  The owner, Cathy, wanted LOTS of feathers and McTavishing (the background filler by the stars).  I used invisible thread around the stars and on the 'teepees' on the border.  The rest was quilted with Superior's King Tut thread and Hobbs 80/20 batting.  To say I enjoyed doing the feathers and McTavishing is putting it mildly -- I loved it!!!!

Lone Star Tablecloth

This quilt was pieced by my friend, Cathy K.  It started out as a quilt for her bed, but ended up being a quilt for her table!  It's approximately 76" x 76".  I quilted it with Hobbs 80/20 batting and Superior's Lava thread on top and So Fine in the bobbin.

Navajo Sarape
